Turkana, a place where residents continue gazing skywards hoping for rains even as some parts of the country begin experiencing the opposite. Four straight seasons without rain have left the region’s population on the verge of near extinction. But amid the despair, there are embers of hope and as Rose Wangui reports, women have found ways of eking a living to sustain their families.
