Government to push ahead with implementation of the car age-limit policy
Despite pleas from various stakeholders, the government will not renege on its position to reduce the age limit of motor vehicle imports from eight to five years from July, for cars with an engine capacity larger than 1.5 litres. Industry, Trade and Cooperatives Cabinet Secretary, Peter Munya, says the new policy will be implemented in phases, creating ample room for adjustment for various stakeholders in the second-hand car business.
