Former Ugandan VP in jail on corruption charges

The Anti-corruption Court has remanded former Vice President of Uganda, Prof. Gilbert Bukenya in Luzira prison today for allegedly misappropriating funds during his tenure as Vice President. Bukenya faces charges of abuse of office and fraudulent practice in relation to the procurement of BMW cars and motorcycles for the 2007 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Kampala.
